We are one of the most comprehensive emergency services department in the state.  As a combination volunteer-career department, we offer EMS response at the Paramedic level, are heavy rescue certified and provide fire protection to our community. We are proud to display our vehicles in our Gallery.  You can learn about the calls firefighters are responding to under our PHOTO Stories Page.

Leland Fire Rescue, also known as Leland Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department, Inc. is not a municipal department; it is a non-profit organization that has its roots going back to 1959. It works VERY closely with the Town’s of Leland and Belville and with the North Brunswick Sanitary District. We assist with zoning, planning, and water related issues affecting the community as a whole as it relates to Emergency Services.

Fire Protection Classification lowered - Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Leland Fire Rescue is proud to announce it has taken another step in improving the quality of safety to the citizens and visitors of Northern Brunswick County. Effective 1 May 2009 the fire protection class for the Town of Leland, Town of Belville, and the Leland Rural Fire Protection District will be a Class 6/10, 6, and 6/9E respectively. The new classification should result in a decrease in the property insurance calculation for many. The department has worked tirelessly to consistently provide the best possible services for the citizens of our area.  To learn more on how this affects you, click on the links below:

Fire Corps - Saturday, January 31, 2009

Leland Fire Rescue is happy to announce that it is starting a Fire Corps under the coordination of Busby Smith.  Fire Corps helps departments build more capacity by connecting them to community volunteers who can assist in a variety of non-emergency roles. If you want to make a difference in your community fire department, join our team of Fire Corp Volunteers by contacting Busby Smith,  Fire Corp Coordinator, at (910) 399-6724 or firecorps@lelandfirerescue.com. Come and join us for our monthly meeting at Leland Fire Rescue Department, 1004 Village Rd, every 4th thursday of the month. Next meeting is February 26th, 2009 at 7 pm.

Child Safety Seat - Saturday, January 17, 2009

Leland Fire Rescue is happy to announce its participation in the "Safe Kids: Child Safety Seat Program". We are now an official Child Passenger Seat (CPS) inspection station. If you need assistance in:

-Using the correct child safety seat for the age/size of the child
-Installing the seat correctly
-Placing the child in the seat correctly
-Obtaining experience that will lead to self-sufficiency for future use

Please contact the department for an appointment at (910) 371-2727. We are offering this service seven (7) days a week from 9 am until 9 pm.
