Leland Fire Rescue becomes official Child Safety Seat Inspection Station - Saturday, January 17, 2009

Leland Fire Rescue is happy to announce its participation in the "Safe Kids: Child Safety Seat Program". We are now an official Child Passenger Seat (CPS) inspection station, servicing appointments seven (7) days per week from 9 am until 9 pm. Our trained inspectors can assist the public with:

-Using the correct child safety seat for the age/size of the child
-Installing the seat correctly
-Placing the child in the seat correctly
-Obtaining experience that will lead to self-sufficiency for future use

Leland Fire/Rescue now Paramedic Level - Tuesday, December 30, 2008
As of 3pm Monday December, 29 2008 Leland Fire/Rescue began providing paramedic level services to the citizens of Brunswick County. This has been a long time goal of the department and could not have be accomplished without the support of local officials and the citizens of Northern Brunswick County.
 
Leland Becomes NCAR&EMS Heavy Rescue Certified - Sunday, June 15, 2008

Leland Fire/Rescue Department this past week became the first department in Brunswick County to become Heavy Rescue Certified by the North Carolina Association of Rescue & EMS Providers. This has been a goal of Chief Grimes for the past couple of years. Chief Grime’s would like to give credit to Captain Chris Hunt for this achievement as he has worked very hard in seeing this from Concept to Reality. Along with the Heavy Rescue Certification the department received two other certifications which can be review with the following attachment.

Vial-of-Life - Monday, May 19, 2008
With the help of CVS Pharmacy, Leland Fire/Rescue has again stated up its Vial-of-Life program. Westport Fire & Police Substation Open - Monday, February 25, 2008
On Friday February 22, 2008 the Town of Leland held the dedication service for the New Fire & Police Substation. The process that started back in 2006 was finally realized on this day when the Hose was uncoupled at the new station. This was a very important step in moving forward with fire and police protection for the area. This area of Leland is one of the fastest growing in Brunswick County. We are very happy this station is open and are looking forward to better serving the citizens in that area. Please stop by and visit
